4Quick and EasySep 03, 2010
It takes about 10-15 minutes to put it up with two people. It takes about 5-10 minutes to take it down. We are very pleased with it and especially like the small carrying bag. The only knock on this unit is that when sitting in the middle of it, the sight lines are limited because of the corners that come down.

1Poorly made...Sep 01, 2010
I purchased this shelter last fall and took with me on my trip to an island in South America.
Although we needed two people it was very easy to assemble and it looks cool and all...but we only enjoyed 3 times!!! It was a little windy but I never thought this thing would be so fragile, one of the poles broke right in the middle and the whole shelter fall apart! It was a disaster...I was so annoyed because I couldn't even bring back to the States for a refund.Never again!!!Very disappointed...

4Great for backyard shade over little pools or sandboxes!Aug 31, 2010
We loved our shade tent all summer. Everyone who came over for kid's play dates thought it was awesome to cover the kids while playing in the little pool, when the sun was extreme. This tent is easy to move around, but if you live somewhere, where a windstorm can appear during the summer, make sure you have this tent secured. It's designed to take air underneath, but if it's not secure enough, it will fly away. Ours flew away 3 times this summer and the final time, destroyed it, with a big hole the middle. I think it flew into a neighbors wired fence. I probably would have given this shade tent a 5 star; however, I didn't care for the connectors in which you install the stakes. It could have been designed better. Also, the tent is very hard to set up for the first time. It will need 2 people at least to set it up. Other than that, I plan on buying another one next summer. We enjoyed it and I'll post a picture, so you can see the backyard shade for the pool, to give an idea.

3great shelter but bad constructionAug 23, 2010
i really like the shelter for its weight. like everyone said it's harder to put up than you're lead to believe. after the first couple of times it did get a little easier because it strecthed out. my biggest problem now is that one of the poles broke when we were using it on a windy day and it wasn't that windy. supposedly we were shipped the new improved rods? don't see much improvement if the break that easily. i'm going to contact the company to see if they're going to replace it.

1Broke first weekAug 17, 2010
I bought this item DESPITE the reviews it had for the poles snapping, thinking, "Oh, that must just be a fluke." I was wrong. Took it to Destin, FL, and it broke on day 4 in 5-10 mph winds...nothing strong or unusual for the beach. I called the company and was excited to hear it was under warranty for three months. I had to fax in a copy of my receipt and they would take care of it. Needless to say, that was last summer and I have yet to get a response. Many e-mails, faxes, and phone calls later I have never been able to get in touch with anyone again. I'm going to try to rig it to work...but I haven't had time to mess with it. Would not recommend unless they can find a way to make the poles thicker and stronger. If they do, I will definitely consider buying a newer model and trying it again. Great concept and easy set-up. Saves big bucks on beach umbrella rental for a cool product, just needs to be made stronger.
